Summer Treatment Program Helping Children with ADHD
The Summer Treatment Program at the Achievement Center is in full swing. Through recreational programs, children with ADHD learn social skills and ways to improve self-esteem.      The children gain and lose points based on their conduct during the games.  If they earn enough points during the week, they can participate in the week’s trip.   "They will be learning how to better handle social skills, improve self esteem, getting along with others, how to relax, how to get along with adults, how to handle responsibility and authority and complying...things of that nature", says Mary McIntosh , Director of ADHD Bridges at the Achievement Center.      There are around 200 children in this year’s program that covers Erie, Crawford, and Warren counties. |
