Several of the cities neighborhood crime watch groups came together tonight to talk about the recent cases of attempted child abductions.  A number of incidents have been reported since January.  Residents were told to keep their eyes and ears open.

In all, representatives from at least 15 of the city's 60 plus crimewatch groups showed up.  The issue was the recent incidents of attempted child abduction and child luring cases.  Police were also on hand saying all of the recent cases have similarities.  The targets are young female girls, ages 11 to 14.  In all of the cases, they are either walking to school or returning home from school.

Parents were told to discuss the dangers of predators with their children.  According to crime watch leaders, statistics show that abducted children usually do not survive after being taken.

Police tell 12News Reporter John Rupolo they have made no arrests in any of the cases.
