The Fourth of July weekend got off to a tragic start Friday in the City of Erie.  A woman was killed in a house fire on Pine Avenue.

The name of the victim has not been released. Erie fire inspectors, police, and the Erie County Coroner were at the scene throughout the day.  They have not ruled anything out in their investigation. At one point, everyone vacated the house in order to obtain a search warrant. 

The fire started around 11:30 A..M.   Damage was limited to one bedroom. The fire was spotted by a group of young people who were passing by the house.
