 Faced with the most important election in a generation Republicans put forth the best and the brightest the Party had to offer as their Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin?
Don’t know who she is, don’t worry, Republicans don’t know her either. But they will, particularly if the press does their job and looks into the record of this so called reformer and Washington outsider. In the mean time, here are some facts about this unknown Governor who, if elected will be one heartbeat away from serving as President.
• She is currently under investigation for abuse of power.
• She believes the War in Iraq and the War on Terror is part of God’s War to bring about the end times.
• She is the daughter of Charles and Sally Heath of the Heath Candy fortune.
• John McCain met Palin once before choosing her as his Vice Presidential running mate.
• She is quoted as saying that if the Pledge of Allegiance was good enough for the founding fathers, it’s good enough for her. The Pledge was written in 1892, by Francis Bellamy a Christian Socialist.
• She is quoted as saying that she doesn’t know what the Vice President does all day.
• She is a strong proponent of the hypothesis of Intelligent Design which claims the earth is 6,000 years old.
• She had a librarian fired when she refused to remove books from the library that the Governor found objectionable.
• She opposes abortion even in cases of incest and rape and even when the safety of the mother is in question.
• She lied in her speech to the Republican National convention when she said she received more votes for Governor than Joe Biden received in his bid for the Presidency.
• She lied in her speech to the Republican National Convention when she said that Barack Obama hadn’t authored one piece of legislation either in Washington or as a State legislator. Obama co-authored legislation on lobbying, electoral fraud, nuclear terrorism and care for military personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
• She hired a lobbyist with connections to Jack Abramoff while mayor of Wasilla, to bring pork home to Alaska.
• She is secretive, telling her staff they are forbidden from speaking to the press.
• She is deceptive, claiming to be against the bridge to nowhere, even though it enjoyed her support.
• She is inexperienced with no knowledge of foreign policy, or of domestic issues outside of Alaska.
In short, she is the perfect Republican candidate. She does what she’s told to do by the Republican hierarchy, regardless of how it affects the lives of Average Americans. All this would be funny if there wasn’t such a strong possibility that not only could the McCain/Palin ticket win, but due to John McCain’s age and poor health, she could be the President of the United States and the leader of the free world. God help us.
