Where to See Fireworks in Erie

The Fourth of July is almost here, and warm weather is here along with everything else that it brings with it. Whether you enjoy barbecues, time spent with family and friends, or just relaxing after a long week at work, almost everyone can find common ground in one enduring tradition: fireworks. Here are some places to see fireworks in Erie this Independence Day.

Boom Over the Bay: The city of Erie and Mercyhurst College present the third annual Boom Over the Bay. The festivities will start at 6pm on Saturday at Liberty Park before moving to Presque Isle Bay for the fireworks at 9:45pm. Parking is free and some of the best places to see the show are Dobbins Landing, Liberty Park and Bayview Park.

Waldameer Park: Enjoy yourself at the amusement park and Water World, and then stay for the fireworks on both Friday and Saturday at dusk. Alcohol is not permitted and visitors under 19 years old need to buy an extra ticket before entering on fireworks nights.

If you won’t be in Erie, here are other locations in Western New York and Pennsylvania:

Dunkirk: Saturday at dusk, at Dunkirk City Hall.

Findley Lake: Saturday at dusk. Festivities include a chicken barbecue and a boat parade.

Harborcreek:
Saturday at dusk, at Iroquois High School. Festivities will take place throughout the day in Lawrence Park.

Mayville/Chautauqua: Saturday at 10pm, at the Chautauqua County July 4th celebration.

Olean:
Saturday at dusk, at Bradner Stadium. The stadium gates open at 5:30pm.

Pittsburgh: Saturday at 9:30pm, at the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta.

Silver Creek: Saturday at dusk, in George Borello Park.
