 So your wedding day is approaching and it’s time to start thinking about the tuxedo. Perhaps you’ve been putting it off, or maybe you’ve been preoccupied by other important details of your wedding, but if you haven’t thought about the tuxedo, now is the time to work the details and to get the tuxedo that’s right for your wedding.
Consider the following:
When is your wedding taking place, during the day or at night, in the spring, summer or fall? If you are having a day wedding may want to choose a tuxedo that is more contemporary whereas a night wedding really calls for a formal tuxedo. If you’re having a summer wedding you will probably want to choose a tuxedo that is a lighter tux made of breathable material. If you are having a spring or fall wedding you will probably want to choose a heaver tuxedo that has more layers and that is warmer.
When it come to tuxedo colors, you will want to make sure you are coordinating with the theme of the wedding and the colors your bride has chose for her attendants and for the wedding in general.
When it comes to the style of the tuxedo, you want to make sure you are fitting in with the theme of the wedding but you also want to make sure that the tuxedo says something about your own sense of style. If white gloves and a top hat aren’t your style, choose something that more closely mirrors your personality.
Make arrangements early and get fitted early. No matter how much time there is before your wedding, it’s never too early to go and get the tuxedos reserved and to get measured. Then a few weeks before the wedding, go and get fitted so that if there is any problems, there is still plenty of time to make alterations or changes to your tuxedo.
Taking the tuxedos back to the rental place after the wedding. It’s a good idea to appoint one in the wedding party to be the point person for the tuxedos after the wedding. Have someone be responsible for getting the tuxedos together and for returning them after the wedding. As the groom you are going to be very busy, so you may want to bring a change of clothes to the wedding so that you can change after the reception and give the tuxedo to your designated person to ensure it gets back to the rental place on time and in good shape.
The tuxedo may seem like a small thing but when you really look at it, it’s another important part of making your wedding the day you have always dreamed of. The sooner you get going on getting it taken care of, the sooner you can move on to other important details of your wedding.
