Post Election Exercise  
 
Post Election ExerciseWell the Presidential Election has finally come to an end. It seems hard to believe that what started two years ago has finally run its course and ended, but it has. Whether your candidate has won or not, now is the time to leave politics in the past and to get back on an exercise routine.

If you have been consumed by the Presidential Election, it’s a good bet that you haven’t been exercising like you should be. But now is the time to get back to taking care of yourself and exercising your body for good health.

If the Presidential Election has had you parked in front of the TV and kept you sedentary for a while, consider the following to get back on the road to fitness and good health:

Walking. Hands down, walking is the best way to start exercising again after a long period of being sedentary. The best way to take it is slowly. Start with small walks and try to walk a little further each day.

Low Impact Exercises. Never underestimate the importance of low impact exercises. Start slow and work your way up to harder exercises and higher rep counts. Low impact exercises really do help and it won’t be long before you start to feel the difference.

Stretching. It always surprises me that stretching doesn’t get the attention that it deserves because it is so important to good health. You should stretch everyday in the morning and again at night. Think about it. Even Fluffy the cat stretches every time she gets up from a nap. And you should do the same thing. Stretch every chance you get but particularly before you go for your walk and before you do any exercise routine.

With the Election being over you’re probably already starting to feel the void that comes in the post-election period. The best way to fill that void is with exercise.

Yep, the Election is over, so turn off the TV, take down the yard signs and get busy taking care of yourself again. Get busy, get exercising.
